Safety is on the Rise at the 2019 EHS Management Institute in Amelia Island, Florida
EHS Leaders continue to operate in an evolving environment of shifting regulations, standards and expectations.
Through the sharing of best practices, the exchange of innovative ideas and the building of their networks, at gatherings such as the EHS Management Institute, they are able to make strides to meet these challenges whilst ensuring the ongoing sustainability of their respective organizations.
From January 27th – 29th 2019, Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability leaders gathered at the Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island, FL to benchmark ideas and network in an intimate, senior-level environment.
Broader trends that are having impact such as leveraging data and analytics, emerging new technologies and tools, the shift from compliance to coaching, the increase in cross-functional integration and the onset of mergers and acquisitions, provided the backdrop as attendees broke out into a series of interactive panel discussions, roundtables and keynotes to share strategies and tactics within each arena, expertly led by leaders from organizations such as Danaher Corporation, Siemens Healthineers, Grainger, Scot Forge, NSK Americas, Transitions Optical, Tate & Lyle, Allegion and High Liner Foods, to name a few.
While speakers and attendees shared different perspectives on growing EHS initiatives and trends, one overarching theme emerged over the two and-a-half days: the role of the EHS Leader is evolving. EHS Leaders are harnessing a clearer focus on the business operations of their respective companies and adapting EHS initiatives to align with overall corporate strategy. Attendees left the 2019 EHS Management Institute with a rejuvenated focus on the shift towards building a successful organization from the bottom line upwards. When it comes to EHS making an impact on decision-making at the highest levels of business, the future is evidently optimistic.

The discussion was very good – focused on top issues in the EHS arena. I appreciated the smaller group of participants which allowed interaction and conversation. I also appreciated the vendor teams being respectful and not pushy.
Thank you so much. I really enjoyed the experience of many great professionals sharing knowledge and lessons learnt. Thank you for making us able to learn from other companies’ experience in EHS change management and how they follow the path for the EHS future.
This event brought a phenomenal wealth of knowledge that made every discussion intriguing, captivating and keeping my focus on the topics
This was a great platform to meet with vendors (that are appropriate for my business) in a relaxed setting. I was apprehensive prior to attending as I felt there would be a vendor push, but I was wrong. The vendor business meetings sprinkled throughout the day was perfect. I’ve avoided conferences such as ASSE, NSC, etc. but I would return in a heartbeat – this was a valuable use of my time. Thanks for a great couple of days!
This was a good discussion session and appropriate topics.
Love the smaller format to allow more personal interaction. Very good overall experience. Well organized
