John Lacy is the Chief Human Resources Officer or Baylor Scott & White Health, overseeing all human resource functions for the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas.
The integrated delivery network includes 47,000 employees, 49 hospitals, more than 1,000 access points, Scott & White Health Plan, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute and one of the nation’s largest accountable care organizations, Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance.
In his role, Mr. Lacy serves on the senior leadership team and, from a human capital perspective, grows culture while aligning and engaging the workforce around the company’s Strategies and its Ambition, “to be the trusted leader, educator and innovator in value-based care delivery, customer experience and affordability.” Mr. Lacy is known for his ability to execute on high-value initiatives from workforce planning to employee engagement. With national recognition as a leading indicator of effectiveness, in 2018, Great Places to Work® honored Baylor Scott& White Health with awards for Best Workplaces in Health Care & Biopharma and Best Workplaces for Diversity.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lacy served as Vice President of Human Resources for Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis, TN where he spent 15 years in progressive leadership roles. During his tenure, he led the human resources function as it shifted to a shared service model. He subsequently served for five years as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Dallas, TX-based Methodist Health System before returning to Baptist Memorial where he succeeded his longtime mentor in senior executive leadership.
Mr. Lacy received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, graduating Cum Laude. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Union University in Jackson, TN.
