Ken Colonna is the Vice President of Health and Safety for Vail Resorts, Inc. Ken leads the company’s strategy and direction for Health and Safety across its iconic resorts in the U.S., Canada and Australia including; Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Whistler Blackcomb, Stowe, and Perisher mountain resorts.
In his role Ken leads a team of safety and health professionals that designs, implements and manages an integrated safety management system for Vail Resorts. Ken leads our culture of safety through integration of systems, processes people and programs designed to improve the organizational vibrancy of health and safety for our employees and guests.
Ken began his career with the Maryland Casualty Co. in 1982 and has since held leadership roles at several leading companies including; Disney Parks and Resorts, Terminix International, Coca-Cola Refreshments and The Quaker Oats Company.
Ken is affiliated with several professional organizations including the American Society of Safety Engineers, ASTM, ANSI and the National Safety Council and serves on various boards and committees supporting Environmental Health & Safety.
Ken received his MBA from Queens University Charlotte, North Carolina and his BS in Industrial Safety Management & Mining Safety Engineering from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Ken and his family reside in Broomfield, CO.
