As head of talent for Best Buy Canada, Kristen supports all divisions within the Canadian business with a portfolio that includes, recruitment, talent attraction programs, performance management, career development and succession planning.
Since joining the HR leadership team at Best Buy Canada in 2016, Kristen has been a champion of best-in-class recruiting and talent solutions within the organization and has led major initiatives such as a redefined employer brand, updated Career Centre, a first ever internship program, integration of a 3rd party talent assessment and most recently the design and implementation of Workday Recruiting & Talent.
Kristen’s recruiting career has spanned more than 15 years, having worked within a cross section of industries that include retail, financial services, healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Her portfolio also includes Starbucks Coffee Company where she was the sr. program manager (talent acquisition) for Retail North America and the national talent acquisition manager supporting their Canadian business. Always the talent enthusiast, Kristen is also known for developing strong recruiters, building high performing teams and measuring the value and impact of the recruiting function. She has spoken a number of times on the topic of talent attraction including Talent Acquisition Institute in 2018, Indeed Explore 2017, RCC HR Conference in 2017 & 2015 as well as the Global Employer Brand Summit in 2014.
