“Exceeded my expectations!” The Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience Institute Canada is Back!
By Monica Churchill on June 28, 2022
After a two-year hiatus, the Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience Institute Canada is back for the first in-person conference since the start of the pandemic – and it was well worth the wait! The Institute created the perfect space to bring together Talent Acquisition, Management, and Employee Experience Executives from across Canada to network, collaborate, and ultimately create a shared environment for interactive information exchange.
The last two years have changed everything. For organizations at large, business leaders and employees, one fact became clear during the pandemic – the power has shifted. As the war for talent increases, employees are now starting to reassess their jobs and career paths leading to the competition across organizations and industries to attract, engage and retain top talent.
The two-and-a-half-day event kicked off on Sunday June 5th with a critical discussion on The State of the Economy, discussing economic trends, outlooks, and impacts on Canadian consumers, led by the Senior Economist of Scotiabank, Marc Desormeaux. Marc took the stage to uncover the current macroeconomic market trends, socioeconomic trends, and their impact on the labour market seeking to hire talent.
The sessions that followed allowed for attending executives to focus on actionable strategies to attract, develop and retain talent in the ultra-competitive employment landscape we are in. A few session highlights that were captured include:
Lessons Learned: Stories from the Trenches of Recruitment During a Pandemic (Extendicare, LCBO, Okta)
Show Them Who You Are: The Rising Importance of Transparency in Talent Attraction and Retention (Indeed)
The Power of Diverse Teams to Enhance Your Employee Experience & Talent Strategy (LCBO, BMO, Fraser Health)
The Future of Global Talent Mobility: How to Bring Top Foreign Talent to Work for Your Business in Canada (Sobirovs Law Firm)
Talent Experience: Keeping Sightlines to the Journey, Not Just the Destination (Sunwing Travel Group)
Why Creativity is Key for Winning the Talent War (Plus Company)
The Great Enabler: Harnessing Technology to Enable a New Operating Model for Our Hybrid Reality (Microsoft)
“The Great Reconnect”: Engaging and Attracting Employees Through Learning (Kraft Heinz)
Attract and Retain: Aligning Your Employee Brand with the Changing Times (LifeLabs, OLG, Colliers)
Talent Trends: What Does Talent Acquisition Success Look Like in the New World of Work? (Mark Anthony Group, Arc’teryx, Okta, Rogers Communications)
The goal of the TA & Employee Experience Institute was to provide an in-person experience for TA executives to network and share ideas on strategies to lead through the evolving challenges that are shaping the talent workforce. Feedback and praise from attending executives included comments such as:
“It was wonderful. Very well-run event and we were treated like gold. Felt very valued throughout the process and enjoyed the caliber of the speakers and their content.”
“The most valuable and productive conferences I have attended. The right level of thought leaders for me to interact with and relevant topics.”
“It was such an incredible event! I feel like my pen was on fire taking notes and writing down insights. The content was helpful and relevant. I hope to attend the next one!”
“I haven’t attended a conference in years – and this was so well put together and inspiring – I truly enjoyed it and was impressed.”
Once again, a massive thank you to our outstanding Speaker Faculty, Service Providers, Advisory Committee and Attendees. The IPMI Team can’t wait to host the TA & Employee Experience Institute in 2023!
