Beyond Policies – A Roadmap to Accelerate Change and Adoption for DEI and L&D
Thursday, February 18, 2021 • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM (ET)
The time is right to implement DEI change measured by the behaviors and conversations your Leaders and Managers are having. Most organizations have had dedicated diversity and inclusion functions for years. Over the last five years there has been a 113% increase in the number of executives that hold diversity and inclusion titles. Organizations have listened and taken an active role in creating and communicating DEI strategies, programs and policies.
Yet research has shown that little progress has been made. Although training increases awareness and sensitivity, it has little impact on changing behavior. The challenge we face is that our biases are our own, unique to our experiences. They are very personal, and understanding what they are is a critical first step. The next step is experiencing how our biases effect our actions, our conversations, and our intentions in a safe, professional, measurable, and realistic environment.
Meaningful change happens when we practice, practice having difficult and uncomfortable conversations. And doing so in a safe, realistic environment, will increase confidence, improve engagement and accelerate behavior change.
