Andrea Gardella joined Export Development Canada (EDC) in 2010. Andrea recently became the Senior Advisor responsible for climate and ESG policy with International & Export Credit Agency Relations at EDC. At the centre of her work is understanding the intersection between international policy and agreements and Canadian business opportunities. Moreover, Andrea is developing avenues for expanding climate and sustainable finance in support of EDC’s Net Zero Target.
Previously, Andrea was the Principal Economist responsible for the South American region and agriculture sector in the Economic and Political Intelligence Centre within the Economics Department. In addition to advising EDC customers, business teams and senior management on country risk related to international transactions, Andrea Gardella provides expert analysis of global economic issues and international business opportunities.
Andrea Gardella holds a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Arts in Global Security Studies –Energy and Environmental Security at Johns Hopkins University.
