Kevin Myatt

Kevin A. Myatt is Senior Vice President/Chief Human Resources Officer for Yale New Haven Health System, only the second to hold this position in the past 42 years.

YNHHS is the leading integrated health care delivery system in Connecticut.  Kevin was appointed to his current role in December 2007 and is responsible for directing the strategic and daily operations of all core HR functions and HR information services.  Yale New Haven Health is Connecticut’s largest hospital system with over 26,000 employees and over 6,000 medical staff.  Members of the integrated health system are Bridgeport, Greenwich, Lawrence + Memorial, Yale New Haven and Westerly hospitals, Northeast Medical Group and the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut.  Prior to joining Yale New Haven Health System, Kevin was Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Human Resources Officer at Vanderbilt University.

Kevin obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Virginia State University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Arizona State University and an Honorary Ph.D. in Business from the University of New Haven.  He has extensive HR experience in a variety of industries and has worked for companies, including Allied Signal, Miller Brewing, Pepsi Cola, Dial Corporation, Mercy Healthcare Arizona and North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Kevin has served in the communities in which he has lived and his community service includes board memberships with many non-profit organizations including, Aid to the Adoption of Special Kids, the Urban Leagues of Phoenix and Nebraska, Black Family and Child Services, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Salemtown Retirement Centers, Wake Forest University Baptist Behavioral Health, Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church, Youth About Business, Christian Leadership Concepts, TIAA-CREF Advisory Board and Urban League’s Black Executive Change Program.  He was Chairman of Winston-Salem State University Board of Trustees.

Kevin currently serves on the Board of Trustees of John B. Pierce Laboratory, University of New Haven and ConnCAT.  He is Vice President of the Board of Inextricably Bound Community Development Corporation and co-leads the Marriage Ministry with his wife of 41 years, Gail, at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church where they are Deacons.  They have two married daughters, Brooke and Brittany and are proud grandparents.

Kevin is an enthusiastic speaker who frequently provides motivational messages to public and private organizations.
