Naren Balasubramaniam is the former senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. As a member of the System Leadership Team, he served as executive leader of the human resources function including talent acquisition and recruiting; compensation, HRIS and payroll; benefits and wellness; organizational effectiveness; associate relations, health and worker’s compensation.
A strategic and forward-thinking leader, Naren is committed to building and maintaining a strong organizational culture that promotes innovation, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Most recently, Naren served as a managing partner of the healthcare practice for enterprise resource planning solution giant Workday. His extensive experience also includes leading HR transformation and supporting organizational growth at Washington’s Providence St. Joseph Health and at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. Naren has also been an entrepreneur and led health care development and consulting services.
Over the course of his career, Naren has supported sustainable growth and transformation through the acquisition of multiple health systems with a focus on cultural integration, value realignment and leadership formation. He also spearheaded development of a health and wellbeing strategy centered around population health management for Associates and their families, and enhanced organizational and leader capabilities to shape a culture focused on continuous development of Associates.
Naren holds a Master of Social Work, Human Resources and Industrial Relations and a Bachelor of Science in physics from the University of Madras. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and earned his certification as a Global Practitioner of Human Resources by the Society for Human Resources Management in 2008.
