Tawana Thomas Johnson serves as the American Cancer Society’s national vice president of Diversity and Inclusion. She has oversight for the development of the Society’s strategies, external partnerships and organizational policies to promote diversity and inclusion. In her role, she also provides leadership to the Society’s programmatic efforts to improve cancer outcomes in disparate populations through strategic planning and program development. She has more than twenty years of experience in public health, community development, advocacy and diversity and inclusion. She is also the executive producer of the award-winning documentary “More Than Conquerors” which examines the burden of cancer in the African American community.
